Chillin at the weekend

Friday we met Mark and Sarah with Holly for lunch at the mall- Japengo, a kind of noodle bar. Saturday was another chilled day- we went around the marina for a walk, had lunch at a Lebanese cafe, sat outside. The girls had some pocket money left and wanted to have their portraits drawn, this is Amelia posing.

Liz has had her medical today, so the visas should all come through in the next few days. We've picked up the liquor licence so can buy alcohol legally now from the hidden off-licences.

January in Dubai

Back to the sunshine- well not quite but still not as cold as UK! It was nice to get back to our own space, even if I was straight back to work the next day. We've had a few days extra holiday- Islamic New Year, followed by a visit from George Bush that shut so many roads down for security that a National Holiday was announced the afternoon before. There has been three or four days when it has rained, creating general chaos as many of the main roads flooded. I have been off the blog for a few weeks, I had someone hack into my Hotmail from my EBay. Make sure you have different passwords! I have picked up a new car and off-hired the Lancer. The new car is a 2008 Kia Sportage which is great to drive but the guys in the office have ribbed me that it's a girl's 4x4... We've got tickets for the golf at the Emirates Club next week, the Dubai Desert Classic, so looking forward to that.
